Tax research, tax planning and preparation of income tax returns
The tax services typically provided by the certified public accountant include tax research in specialized problem areas, tax planning, and preparation of income tax returns for individuals and profit-oriented businesses and information returns for non-profit organizations.
At Skelton, Bryant, Bryant & Scarboro, P.A., we provide tax services for a varied clientele ranging from individuals to large corporate businesses. We also provide tax services for nonprofit and governmental organizations.
Tax planning is normally performed more effectively when performed in connection with the audit engagement. The auditor gains more knowledge of the entity's tax problem areas and is more likely to recognize tax-saving or tax-deferment opportunities. Tax planning is particularly important for non-profit organizations because the initial structuring of the organization and certain prohibited transactions have a direct bearing on the tax exempt status of the organization. However, effective tax services, including tax planning, are by no means limited to the audit engagement. A large portion of the tax services that we provide relate to our smaller, unaudited engagements and we feel that we provide effective tax planning and tax decision making on these engagements. |
